5th Congressional District Republicans got a little October Surprise tonight. Seems candidate Mike Erickson may have paid for a woman’s abortion back in 2000.
[O]n Monday, the woman agreed to share her story with the Portland Tribune, after Erickson’s primary opponent, Kevin Mannix, referred to the incident in a campaign mailer and press release. The Portland Tribune agreed to allow the woman to remain anonymous, because she said she was traumatized by the abortion and feared retribution.
Kevin Mannix wouldn’t resort to slinging mud about his opponent’s private life, would he? Nah.
Sometimes a leader has to step forward and take responsibility for delivering difficult news.
…
Rarely have I been confronted with such a difficult decision as to whether to proceed with something of this nature. But what is on the line here is the character of the person who will represent you in Congress.
Aye. A leader with character. That’s just what OR-5 wants, Kevin. You’re not him. Slime bucket, indeed.
