It happened everywhere

They put in $15,600 and took out $599,800.  Just another story from the Bush economy.
At some point the smart people on the tee-vee are going to figure out the free money from home equity lines is no longer flowing into the economy.  Once they do, this talk of a “mild” recession will cease.

Time to start thinking about moving

April 30th, 2008 · No Comments

I’ve been in the Couv now for what…three-and-a-half years? This may be the longest stretch I’ve ever had in one place. I’ll have to get back to you on that. Anyway, with the current housing meltdown, there seems to be an excess of rental properties out there. At least that’s what […]

Obama stands his ground

April 30th, 2008 · No Comments

Mentos!

April 29th, 2008 · No Comments

I’ve experimented with the Mentos and Diet Coke thing a time or two.  Kids freaking LOVE it.  And they think I’m a genius for coming up with it.  Generally I don’t dissuade them of this notion.

Keeping Portland weird

April 29th, 2008 · No Comments

Driving by the zoo outside the Candidates Gone Wild show last night, I briefly flirted with a transvestite holding a Sam for Mayor sign.  I didn’t have the heart to tell her I’m from The Couv.  Hopefully my plates said it all.

Local boy makes good

Did you know that Eugene Oregon’s own David Vobora was selected as this year’s Mr. Irrelevant in the NFL draft?  The honor goes each year to the last player selected.

The dead spot

April 28th, 2008 · 2 Comments

The summer between 7th and 8th grade I broke my arm up at Camp Baldwin. Like an idiot, I was cruising around after dark without a flashlight and I tripped. I fell either on to a root or a downed limb Either way, my arm was punctured and I was bleeding pretty […]
