Sharebuilder.com, a sister-company of my bank, ING Direct, ran a promotion recently where they gave new customers $50 for signing up and trading with their company.  So I dumped in $100 on a whim, figuring I would start a little Roth IRA and see what happened.

My first purchase was the energy SPDR (AMEX: XLE).  I bought back on February 11th at $71.65.  It closed today at $78.66.  That’s a 9.78% return in a little over 2 weeks, for those of you scoring at home.  With $4 gas staring us in the face, I figure I’ll be a millionaire by Christmas.  Of course I can’t withdraw any of it for another 23 years, but whatever.  I’m a freaking genius.

Investing is easy.
